Weekly Written Analysis 3 Assignment 3-1

Every time you turn on the television to watch something all you can find to watch is a reality show.  I am not complaining because I am a fan and hooked on the shows.  Reality shows like Survivor, American Idol, Amazing Race, Americas Got Talent and many more are watched by millions of viewers every season.  These shows get you hooked on them so you cannot stop watching until you know who has won.  Reality shows are being aired on all the major networks.  Some people see these shows as a chance for talented people to make a start and get noticed.  Others think that they are silly because they can exploit young children.
Reality shows such as American Idol gives the general public a chance.  They start off with auditions and if they pass they go to Hollywood for the next round, to compete in group auditions at a chance to make the final cut.  There is three judges that critique the performers and then the viewers call in and vote for who they want to stay to perform the next week.  The contestants go through several weeks of performing in hopes to making it in the final four and on to win the major recording contract and the prize money.
I truly believe that these reality shows help many people in different ways.  They help people find their talents and face their fears.  Even the ones that do not win still make something of themselves.   The ones that do not win is the ones we hear from the most.  I do not believe that these reality shows exploit any of the contestants; it only helps them find who they really are and how talented they can be.  They also help the ones that win get set financially.  Without these reality shows a lot of people would not have gotten a start and live their dream.
